Indians Claim to have been Trafficked to Mississippi

According to an article in the Times of India today, "More than 100 Indian workers at a Mississippi shipyard staged a walkout claiming they were victims of human trafficking and lived and worked in abysmal conditions.

The workers plan to report themselves to the Department of Justice as trafficking victims and demand federal prosecution of the employer, Signal International, a local television channel reported.">>

I've found Americans to be pretty naive about human trafficking. In school we are taught about slavery in the past tense. It's still happening today, though.

Here's a video created by Youth for Human Rights International that puts it in perspective.

This is one of 30 short video clips each of which illustrate one of the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The videos were produced with the support of the Human Rights Department of the Church of Scientology International and various projects to distribute the videos have been funded by the International Association of Scientologists.

Something Can and Is Being Done about Drugs

There is really no need to let kids go down the road to self-destruction through drugs.

Ever notice that the increase in so-called depression parallels the amount of drug abuse in society?

Here's an example of what I mean from the Good News blog

More on Drugs

Look at those kids. Aren't they magnificent!

They are elementary school children from Taiwan, and they are taking the Drug-Free Marshals pledge.

Back on my soap box, I guess, but here's a personal story.

My younger sister was always so bright and capable. I admired her so much when we were growing up. She started drinking when she was 11 and started smoking dope when she was 13.

Of anyone I know, she probably posessed more talent and potential. And although she was a bit withdrawn and shy she had a really good disposition. But drugs changed all that.

One day I realized that she had really become vicious. I couldn't trust her any more and she absolutely refused to let me help her. And so that was that.

But even people who do make it and succeed in their careers -- they aren't exempt from the destruction of drugs. Just look how many artists are wrecked by alcohol and drug abuse.

Every time I go to a Scientology event and hear David Miscavige urge Scientologists to do more to help their friends and their communty I think of people like my sister, and how wonderful it would have been if someone had gotten to her before her "cool" friends did.

Something can be done about sexual trafficking. Here's information on a forum on the subject. The article is on the Scientology Press Office

It's pretty amazing

It's pretty amazing how much help one auditor can provide.

It's hard to explain to people who haven't studied any Scientology books that auditing isn't an "art" or guesswork but is actually a technology and as invariable in its results, when correctly applied, as any branch of engineering.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers

The reason Scientology Volunteer Ministers can have the motto "Something CAN be done about it" is because the Scientology Handbook is such an effective compilation of useful, workable material that applies to just about any aspect of life.
